On the 4th of September, 2018, SCALE center Nigeria paid a visit to AICL to present on Investing in Supply Chain Impact to Transform African Economies. ARC in Nigeria, in partnership with MIT, is supporting the development of a SCALE Centre, the first of its kind on the continent, based on the MIT SCALE Centres in Zaragoza, Luxemborg, Bogota, Malaysia and Ningbo. The strategy for the Nigeria Center is predicated on four core elements, education, research, innovation and exchanges. The SCALE network’s offerings span a wide range of educational levels (undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education) and formats (certificate programs as well as full-time, part time, and blended degree programs). Supply Chain academia on the continent is greatly disjointed and most courses are not up to industry standards. In Nigeria, the supply chain talent pool is wide, however there is no coordinated effort to build this talent pool to research, innovate and exchange knowledge.
